A handful of believers, under the leadership of Pastor Dan Quinlan, filed the appropriate paperwork with the IRS and the State of Maine Bureau of Corporations, Elections and Commissions to be officially recognized as "Schoodic Mountain Community Bible Church" on April 1st 2002.
The body of believers first started meeting in the Pastor's home and when the home was outgrown, a move was made to the Holiday Inn in Ellsworth. The church met there until a space was located in the Ray Plumbing Building. The church met there until July of 2007.
After much prayer, in 2007 the body made the decision to purchase a plot of land along Route 1 in Hancock. The Lord blessed this decision and soon the money came in to purchase the land. Then with more prayer, the church body stepped out in faith and began a building program that primarily used the talent of its members to construct the building which now houses its believers.
In November of 2007 Schoodic Mountain Community Bible Church was renamed Schoodic Mountain Ministries and Bible Baptist Church became the first ministry of Schoodic Mountain Ministries. And the ministry continued to grow.
In May of 2013 Pastor Dan Quinlan after twelve years of faithful service stepped down as the leader of Bible Baptist Church.
In October of 2013 Bible Baptist Church voted in a new Pastor, Steven Hersey.
